Adventure rider Charley Boorman to debut Bigger Better Faster at MCL26

The opening day of Motorcycle Live 2026 (MCL26) will be marked by a special appearance from adventure-rider, broadcaster and Zerofit ambassador Charley Boorman. Arriving at the NEC in Birmingham on Saturday 21 November, Boorman will unveil a brand-new documentary titled Bigger, Better, Faster which delves into the heritage of the iconic North West 200 road-racing festival in Northern Ireland. The event, running until 29 November, gathers 48 motorcycle manufacturers under one roof, making it the premier indoor showcase for two-wheel enthusiasts in the UK.

Charley Boorman’s role at MCL26

Boorman will take the main stage alongside regular hosts James Whitham and Grace Webb. During the interview the trio will explore Boorman’s globe-spanning riding adventures, his past as manager of a Dakar team in the late 1990s, and the creative process behind his latest film project. After the interview, the adventurer will linger at the Zerofit stand, offering fans a chance to discuss his travels, the new documentary, and the broader world of motorcycle sport.

The documentary “Bigger, Better, Faster”

This 2026 release is a collaborative effort between Zerofit filmmaker Luke Whatley-Bigg and Boorman himself. It traces the evolution of the North West 200 from its modest beginnings to its status as one of the most revered road-racing events on the planet. Viewers will be treated to archival footage, rider testimonies, and a behind-the-scenes look at how the race has adapted to changing technology and safety standards. Boorman describes the film as a tribute to the “spirit of speed, community, and daring that defines the North West 200”.

Why the North West 200 matters

Held each May on a 8.970-kilometre circuit of public roads near Portstewart, the North West 200 combines raw power with breathtaking scenery, earning a reputation as the “Irish Isle of Man”. The documentary emphasizes how the race has nurtured local talent, drawn international stars, and contributed to the broader heritage of road racing.

What the show offers this year

Beyond Boorman’s premiere, MCL26 celebrates the 30th anniversary of the British Superbike Championship with a dedicated display of historic machines. The event also features a curated collection from the Moulsdale Foundation a charitable group that restores classic motorcycles for young riders, and the inaugural Show and Shine hosted by The Biker Lawyers allowing visitors to parade their own bikes for a “Best in Show” prize. With live music, stunt performances and a re-imagined stage area, the nine-day extravaganza promises something for every enthusiast.

Practical details: the exhibition runs daily from 10 am to 5 pm. Standard tickets start at £25 on weekdays and £27 on weekends, with reduced rates of £5 for children aged 5-18 and caregivers. Children under five enter free of charge. All tickets can be booked via the official Motorcycle Live website.
