Audi’s new plug-in hybrid lineup

Audi is making waves in the automotive market by expanding its A6 lineup with the introduction of plug-in hybrid variants known as the e-hybrid quattro. These new models will be available in both sedan and Avant (station wagon) body styles, promising enhanced performance and efficiency for drivers. Starting this summer, customers can expect to see these models on the road, with prices beginning at €72,200.

Power and performance specifications

The A6 e-hybrid lineup features two distinct power levels, both powered by a 2.0 TFSI turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 185 kW (252 hp). This is combined with an electric motor integrated into a seven-speed DSG transmission, which can deliver up to 105 kW (143 hp). The more powerful variant boasts a combined output of 270 kW (367 hp) and 500 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds. Alternatively, the second variant offers 220 kW (300 hp) and 450 Nm of torque, achieving the same speed in 6 seconds. Both versions come with a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h.

Improved battery and charging capabilities

The new e-hybrid models come equipped with a battery that is 45% larger than the previous generation, now with a gross capacity of 25.9 kWh (20.7 kWh net). This upgrade provides an impressive electric driving range of up to 111 km, according to Audi’s specifications. Additionally, the models support AC charging at a maximum power of 11 kW, an improvement over the previous 7.4 kW charging capability, ensuring quicker and more efficient recharging.

Advanced handling and driving experience

Standard on all A6 e-hybrid models is Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive system, which enhances traction and stability in various driving conditions. Another significant feature is the four-wheel steering system, which rotates the rear wheels in the opposite direction at low speeds (up to about 60 km/h) to improve maneuverability. At higher speeds, the rear wheels turn in the same direction as the front wheels, enhancing stability and handling. These innovations contribute to a refined driving experience that combines agility with control.

Pricing and availability in Italy

The Italian market will see the arrival of the new Audi A6 e-hybrid models this summer. The base price for the sedan version with 299 hp starts at €72,200, while the Avant variant is priced at €75,100. For those seeking the more powerful 367 hp versions, equipped with S line interiors, sport suspension, 19-inch wheels, and striking red brake calipers, prices begin at €86,950 for the sedan and €89,850 for the Avant. These competitive prices, along with the advanced features and performance capabilities, make the new A6 e-hybrid an appealing option for automotive enthusiasts.
