The British Grand Prix at Silverstone is more than just a race weekend; it’s an experience that captivates motorsport enthusiasts worldwide. In 2026, the iconic circuit set a new attendance record, with approximately 564,000 fans flocking to witness the action. Among the drivers was Ollie Bearman a British talent sponsored by Group, who had the honor of competing in front of his home crowd at one of the sport’s most legendary venues.
Silverstone’s challenging layout, featuring iconic corners like MaggotsBeckettsAbbey and Luffield tests the mettle of even the most seasoned drivers. This year, the excitement was amplified by the return of the Sprint format which added extra points and intensity to the weekend.
An Eventful Start to the Weekend
With only a single practice session on Friday, teams had limited time to prepare before the competitive action began. Ollie made the most of the opening session, gathering crucial data to fine-tune his car for the weekend ahead.
The Sprint Qualifying session later on Friday proved to be a tight affair, with Ollie securing 17th position on the grid. The 100km Sprint offered some thrilling racing opportunities, and Ollie managed to gain places, finishing in 14th position.
Racing Under the Spotlight
Before the main event on Sunday, fans were treated to a unique drivers’ parade featuring Lego cars. Ollie, ever the optimist, joked about the possibility of scoring points with the novelty wheels, although none were on offer.
Starting the main race in 14th position Ollie faced an early setback when the Williams of Alex Albon crashed into his Haas sending him into a spin. Recovery was a tough battle, but Ollie displayed remarkable determination and skill, climbing back up the field to finish in 12th position.
Celebrating the Silverstone Spirit
Guests from RokstoneConsiliumiSure and iFarm enjoyed an unforgettable weekend at the circuit. They experienced live music at the Racing Green hospitality area, tested their skills on racing simulators, and watched the action unfold from prime grandstand seats with views of the Wellington Straight.
Colleagues from across the business also volunteered for the charity partner, Race Against Dementia collecting donations and promoting a prize draw to passing fans. As a home town hero, Ollie’s limited edition Silverstone merchandise proved popular, with several items selling out over the weekend.
With the British Grand Prix complete, the Formula 1 season heads towards its final two races before the summer break. Next up is the legendary Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. After the energy and atmosphere of his home race, Ollie will be hoping to carry that momentum into the next round and continue his push back into the points through the second half of the 2026 season.
