The Gran Premio Nuvolari returns from September 17 to 20, 2026marking its 36th edition with a tribute to one of the greatest racers in history, Tazio Nuvolari. Organized by Mantova Corse since 1991this prestigious event kicks off in MantovaNuvolari’s hometown, and spans 1,100 kilometers across Lombardia, Emilia-Romagna, Toscana, Umbria, Marcheand the Republic of San Marino.

This year’s edition promises excitement and innovation, blending the charm of historic racing with modern sustainability efforts. The event attracts enthusiasts and competitors alike, offering a unique blend of speed, strategy, and scenic beauty.

The Evolution of a Historic Race

The roots of the Gran Premio Nuvolari trace back to the 1950sfollowing the passing of Tazio Nuvolari in 1953. The Mille Miglia altered its route to honor the legendary racer, known affectionately as Nivolaand established a special award for the fastest driver. This tradition evolved into the esteemed event we know today, celebrated for its regolarità (precision driving) and historic significance.

Over the decades, the Gran Premio Nuvolari has grown into a cornerstone of the international motorsport calendar, attracting participants and spectators from around the world. The event’s rich history and commitment to preserving automotive heritage make it a must-attend for enthusiasts and professionals alike.

A New Route for a New Era

The 2026 edition introduces a revamped route designed to challenge and inspire participants. The 300 teams will navigate through a mix of autodromi (circuits) and circuiti cittadini (city circuits), including stops at Mugello, Imola, Magioneand city tracks in Carpi, Forlì, and Lugo di Romagna. The journey begins in Mantova and winds through picturesque landscapes, from the Pianura Padana to the Appennini and the Tosco-Romagnole hillsculminating in a coastal stretch along the Adriatic Sea before returning to Mantova.

This year’s route promises a thrilling mix of high-speed sections and technical challenges, testing the skills of both drivers and navigators. The diverse terrain and scenic beauty add to the event’s allure, making it a memorable experience for all involved.

Classic Cars and Sustainable Innovation

The Gran Premio Nuvolari 2026 welcomes vehicles built between 1919 and 2000categorized into PreWar, Classic, and Youngtimer classes. Alongside these historic gems, 35 modern Gran Turismo cars will also compete, showcasing the evolution of automotive design and performance.

In line with contemporary values, the event emphasizes sustainability through the Gran Premio Nuvolari Green initiative. This project aims to offset CO2 emissions and minimize plastic use during the event.
