Real-Time Data for Enhanced Off-Roading

The HTX app provides access to 11 critical vehicle data points, including elevationpitchrollbrake pressurethrottle positionspeedengine temperatureoutside temperaturetire anglelatitude and longitude. Drivers can customize their infotainment touchscreen to display up to six of these data points at a time, allowing them to monitor their vehicle’s performance in real-time.

This data can be logged and combined with maps, enabling users to revisit their routes anytime. The app’s intuitive interface makes it easy to navigate through the data, providing a complete record of the adventure. Whether you’re tackling a challenging trail or exploring new terrain, the HTX app ensures you have all the information you need at your fingertips.

Seamless Video Capture and Sharing

One of the standout features of the HTX app is its ability to capture and share videos of off-road adventures. The app allows users to create videos with data overlays, including map and performance metrics. This makes it effortless to document and share your off-road experiences with friends, family, and social media followers.

Video capture is controlled from the vehicle’s touchscreen, giving TrailSport owners the flexibility to mount their device anywhere on the SUV. This includes both inside and outside the vehicle or even held by a spectator for more dynamic footage. The app also supports still photo capture, ensuring you can document every key moment of your adventure.

The HTX app utilizes the iPhone’s camera and microphone for video and audio capture, respectively. This seamless integration ensures high-quality recordings that can be easily shared on social media platforms. The app’s user-friendly interface makes it easy to export videos with data overlays, providing a unique and engaging way to share your off-road experiences.

Continuous Development and User Feedback

Honda is committed to continuously improving the HTX app based on user feedback. In January 2026, the HTX development team hosted a group of off-roaders at The Overland Company in Troy, North Carolina for a day of real-world usability validation of the app. The diverse group, which included owners of Honda TrailSports and other popular 4X4s, provided valuable feedback that will influence near-term user experience updates and enhancements to HTX.

The app also features a ‘Share Feedback’ option, allowing users to provide their comments directly to the Honda development team. This ongoing collaboration ensures that the HTX app continues to evolve and meet the needs of off-road enthusiasts. An Android version of the app is also planned for the future, making it accessible to a broader range of users.

The launch of the HTX app is a testament to Honda’s commitment to enhancing the off-road experience for TrailSport owners. By providing real-time data, intuitive navigation tools, and seamless video sharing, the app empowers drivers to get more from every off-road journey. As Honda continues to expand the use of the TrailSport badge and focus on off-roading, the HTX app is poised to become an essential tool for off-road enthusiasts.
