NASCAR Championship Weekend Returns to Homestead-Miami Speedway in 2026 and 2027

The roar of engines and the thrill of championship races will once again echo through Homestead-Miami Speedway in 2026 and 2027. The track has confirmed its role as the host for all three national title-deciders, marking a significant milestone in its racing history.

This announcement comes on the heels of a $20 million renovation project aimed at enhancing the fan experience. The upgrades include a new primary entry gate, a remodeled Ally Champions Club, and an expanded fan zone, ensuring that spectators are treated to top-tier amenities.

Championship Weekend Schedule

The NASCAR Championship Weekend is scheduled for November 12-14, 2027. The excitement kicks off on Friday night, November 12 with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series finale. The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series will take center stage on Saturday, November 13 culminating in the highly anticipated Cup Series race on Sunday, November 14.

Guillermo Santa Cruz President of Homestead-Miami Speedway, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “The South Florida community is thrilled to once again be the home for NASCAR Championship Weekend in 2026 and 2027, as next year will be the Speedway’s 20th time doing so. The excitement, drama, and energy surrounding the championship brings tremendous visibility, economic impact, and engagement to our community, while showcasing what Homestead-Miami Speedway can offer as a premier destination for major events.”

The Return of a Racing Tradition

Homestead-Miami Speedway has reclaimed its place as the title-decider after a five-year hiatus. From 2002 through 2019, the track was the consistent host for the championship races. In 2026, it will once again be the 36th and final race of the season, a position it held for nearly two decades.

Between 2026 and 2026, Phoenix Raceway took over as the host for the championship finale. However, it has now been moved back to the penultimate race, allowing Homestead to regain its prestigious role. Despite criticisms of the Next Gen era and its aero package, Homestead has consistently delivered thrilling races on its 1.5-mile intermediate oval.

Legends and Champions

The track has witnessed some memorable moments in NASCAR history. Kyle Larson emerged victorious in the 2026 Homestead race, while Denny Hamlin holds the record for the most wins among active drivers with three victories. The most recent Cup driver to be crowned champion at Homestead was the late Kyle Busch who secured his second and final title there in 2019.

As the racing world looks ahead to the 2027 season, Homestead-Miami Speedway stands ready to deliver another unforgettable Championship Weekend, blending tradition with modern enhancements to create an unforgettable experience for fans and drivers alike.
