Get there early — and why it matters
Expect heavy crowds and thorough security checks. Arriving 60–90 minutes before the program (between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m.) gives you breathing room for parking or transit, screening, and finding your seat without rushing. It also boosts your chances of getting preferred seating and avoids last-minute delays that can hold up the program.

Before you leave — quick checklist (print or screenshot)
– Ticket (printed or on your phone) and government-issued photo ID
– Fully charged phone + a small portable charger
– Cashless payment method (credit/debit, Apple Pay, Google Pay); small cash optional
– Any required medication (in original packaging) and documentation if needed
– Compact rain layer or light jacket; ear protection for loud moments
– Small clear bag or allowed clutch (see bag policy below)

Ticketing and entry
– Everyone must present a ticket to enter (paper or digital accepted).
– Doors open at 10:00 a.m.; please be seated in your assigned section by 11:30 a.m. so the program can start at noon.

– Don’t forget: daylight saving time begins that weekend—set your clocks ahead.

Bag, sign and payment rules (to speed entry)
– Clear-bag policy: plastic, vinyl or PVC bags no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″.
– Small non-transparent clutches allowed up to 4.5″ x 6.5″.
– Signs and placards are permitted only if they have no sticks/poles and can pass security screening.
– Concessions prefer cashless payments (credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay).

What not to bring — prohibited items
Please leave these at home:
– Backpacks, large bags, luggage or briefcases
– Professional camera gear (unless you have accreditation), tablets, laptops
– Outside food or beverages (medical exceptions possible with advance notice)
– Umbrellas, selfie sticks, banners on poles
– Weapons, glass items, fireworks

Statewide bus transportation — pickup and boarding
Buses run from multiple regional locations. Confirmed departures:
– Syracuse: 8:00 a.m., Syracuse Teachers Association lot — 450 W Kirkpatrick St
– Binghamton: 8:00 a.m., Binghamton University Parking Lot G1
Each bus will show a numbered sign. Follow announcements and the bus captain’s instructions for orderly boarding and the post-rally return.

Food, boxed lunches and concessions
– Boxed lunches are available for NYSUT members/guests who requested one — pick up inside near the security checkpoints.
– Concessions on the concourse will be open; cashless payments preferred. Alcohol will be sold at designated stands with valid ID.
– If you need a medical exception for outside food, contact event organizers ahead of time.
