The company’s roadmap includes the production of small batches of solid-state battery cells starting in 2027 with a gradual increase in production volumes leading up to large-scale manufacturing around 2030. BYD’s solid-state batteries utilize a sulfur-based solid electrolyte offering a promising alternative to traditional lithium-ion batteries.
