The Clean Express Auto Wash brand has taken a bold step into the world of professional sports, forging official ties with two of Pittsburgh’s most beloved franchises. By aligning with the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Pittsburgh Steelers the company aims to turn every home-team triumph into a tangible perk for fans, while also widening its network of locations across Western Pennsylvania.
Express Wash Concepts (EWC), the parent company behind Clean Express, already operates a sizable portfolio of express car washes in Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana. The latest agreements add a layer of fan engagement that goes beyond conventional advertising, creating promotions that reward supporters the moment their team makes a scoring play.
Penguins partnership: free wash for every first home goal
Under the new arrangement, Clean Express is the Official Car Wash of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Throughout the NHL regular season, whenever the Penguins notch the opening goal at PPG Paints Arena, fans who register online receive a voucher for a complimentary Clean-est Ultra wash (a $28 value). The coupon can be redeemed the following day at any Clean Express site, but is limited to one use per fan per season.
Penguins senior vice president of partnerships Steve Kelley highlighted the synergy, noting that the offer extends the game-day experience into everyday life. “It gives our supporters a fresh way to celebrate a goal,” he said, emphasizing the blend of sport enthusiasm and practical benefit.
Steelers partnership: Victory Drive rewards every home win
In a parallel program dubbed Victory Drive the Steelers’ triumphs on the field trigger a free car wash for fans. For each home victory during the 2026 regular season, registered supporters can claim a free Clean-est Ultra wash the next day, again limited to one per person. Additionally, newcomers who sign up for the Wash Smart Unlimited Club through the promotion enjoy $10 off the monthly fee for the first three months, and the first 1,000 members receive a $25 Steelers Pro Shop gift card.
The collaboration carries an extra layer of local lore: Jim Baker, whose property houses the Pleasant Hills Clean Express location, famously recovered the game ball from Franco Harris’s “Immaculate Reception.” His personal connection to Steelers history underscores the community-centric spirit behind the deal.
Community impact and future growth
Both partnerships embed charitable components. For every new Wash Smart Unlimited membership generated via the Steelers’ Victory Drive, Clean Express will donate $10 to the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania, with the Steelers matching contributions up to $5,000 annually. The Penguins alliance also promises co-branded experiences for youth hockey programs, reinforcing the company’s mission to Enhance People, Communities and Cars Through the Power of Clean.
Geographically, the collaborations coincide with an aggressive expansion plan. Clean Express already operates 13 locations in the Greater Pittsburgh area, and seven additional sites are slated to open by the end of 2026, bringing the total to 20. Each facility features state-of-the-art tunnel technology, complimentary professional-grade vacuums, and a 100% satisfaction guarantee, positioning the brand as a convenient, locally-owned service for sports fans and everyday drivers alike.
By intertwining game-day excitement with everyday utility, Clean Express leverages the passion of Pittsburgh’s fan base to drive brand loyalty, while simultaneously contributing to charitable causes and youth sports development. The dual partnership illustrates how a regional business can amplify its footprint through strategic alignment with iconic sports institutions.
