The 2025 MotoGP season is set to enhance the fan experience through significant modifications. Following the successful introduction of the Saturday Sprint Race, this format will continue to generate excitement. This change mirrors similar adaptations seen in WSBK and F1, aiming to deliver a weekend filled with thrilling motorcycle racing.

Each Sprint Race will cover half the distance of the main event, with only the top nine riders earning points. The points system awards 12 points for a win, 9 for second place, and 7 for third, with subsequent positions earning 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 point respectively. The main Sunday races will maintain their original points distribution, providing 37 points per race and totaling 740 points throughout the season.

New channels and platforms

Beginning in late February 2025, all live and recorded content previously aired on Eurosport will transition to the TNTSports channel network, formerly known as BTSport. This change will encompass continued coverage of MotoGP, along with Bennetts British Superbikes and FIM World Superbikes.

Fans can still access some free-to-air content on channels such as Quest and ITV4. Consequently, the Eurosport app will cease operations in the UK and Ireland, redirecting users to TNTSports.co.uk.

Moreover, viewers can enjoy uninterrupted coverage of all series through the Discovery+ platform with a TNTSports subscription. For dedicated enthusiasts, the MotoGP Video Pass offers access to every test session, practice, qualifying, and race.

Team changes and rider movements

The 2025 season features notable rider transfers and team changes, creating a dynamic competitive environment. To streamline the overview, the following riders will remain with their teams from the previous season: Pecco Bagnaia, Alex Marquez, Johann Zarco, Fabio Quartararo, Alex Rins, Fabio Di Giannantonio, Brad Binder, Joan Mir, Luca Marini, and Raul Fernandez.

In contrast, Mark Marquez has been promoted to a full-factory position with Ducati, joining Bagnaia after a successful first year. He replaces Enea Bastianini, who now rides for the new Tech 3 KTM alongside Maverick Vinales, previously with Aprilia.

Further team dynamics

Aprilia is undergoing significant transformation, with reigning champion Jorge Martin teaming up with Marco Bezzecchi, who moves from VR46 Ducati. The vacant spot at VR46 will be filled by Franco Morbidelli, transitioning from Prima Ducati. Meanwhile, Prima Ducati welcomes Miguel Oliveira from Trackhouse Aprilia and Jack Miller from Red Bull KTM.

Although Brad Binder retains his seat at Red Bull KTM, he will welcome talented newcomer Pedro Acosta, who departs from the rebranded Tech3 GasGas team.
