The average price of gas in the United States has fallen to $4.006 per gallon this week, according to the latest data. Diesel prices have also decreased, averaging $5.257 per gallon.

This marks a 1.79% drop in gas prices from last week, when the average was $4.079 per gallon. Diesel prices have also fallen by 1.7%, continuing a two-week trend of declining fuel costs.

Across the United States, fuel prices vary significantly. California remains the most expensive state for gas, with an average price of $5.428 per gallon. New York also sees higher prices, averaging $4.044 per gallon. On the other end of the spectrum, Texas offers the cheapest gas, with an average price of $3.513 per gallon. Florida is also relatively affordable, with an average price of $3.792 per gallon.
