Our programs are meticulously designed to combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared for the challenges they will encounter in the field.

Our automotive services technology program spans two years, comprising a total of 60 credit hours. This includes 45 hours dedicated to major courses and 15 hours for general education. This comprehensive curriculum equips students with the essential skills and knowledge required to excel in various automotive roles.

Program structure and certification

The curriculum features hands-on training in critical areas such as automatic transmission, manual drive train, and engine performance. Students engage in a series of courses that build upon one another, ensuring a progressive learning experience.

Course requirements and prerequisites

To maintain academic excellence, students must achieve a minimum grade of C in consecutive courses, including Engine Repair 1, Electrical/Electronic Systems 1, and Engine Performance 1. This standard is essential for advancing toward earning an associate degree in automotive technology.

Furthermore, practical experience is a vital component of our program. Each student is required to complete between 60 to 120 hours of hands-on work experience, which can be either paid or unpaid. This real-world exposure is invaluable in preparing students for their future careers.

Accreditation and learning environment

Our programs are accredited by the ASE Education Foundation, ensuring that we meet the highest educational standards in the industry. This accreditation underscores our commitment to providing quality education and training.

Classes are conducted in-person at our state-of-the-art campus in Owosso, Michigan. We attract a diverse group of students from various states, including Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. This vibrant learning environment fosters collaboration and networking opportunities among students.

Online learning opportunities

While core courses for the automotive technology degree are not available online, we recognize the importance of flexibility in education. Therefore, we offer a selection of general education and prerequisite courses through our online platform each semester. This allows students to tailor their learning experience to fit their schedules.
