The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross EV is making waves in the electric vehicle (EV) market with its latest updates, just one year after its initial launch. Drawing inspiration from its French counterpart, the Renault Scenic E-Tech this electric crossover is now offering more choices for consumers, particularly in Europe.
Mitsubishi Motors Europe has introduced two new battery options designed to cater to different driving needs and budgets. Starting in November 2026 the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross EV will be available with a new 67 kWh LFP battery for those seeking a more affordable electric SUV, while the existing long-range version will receive an upgraded 89 kWh NMC battery.
New Battery Options for Diverse Driving Needs
The new 67 kWh LFP battery is aimed at drivers who primarily navigate urban and suburban areas but still require sufficient range for longer trips. This battery provides up to 472 km of WLTP range and can be charged from 15% to 80% in approximately 24 minutes using DC fast charging. It also supports 11 kW and 22 kW AC charging offering flexibility for home and public charging stations.
On the other end of the spectrum, the upgraded 89 kWh NMC battery increases the SUV’s maximum WLTP range from 635 km to up to 650 km. This enhancement is particularly appealing to drivers who frequently embark on long-distance journeys and prefer fewer charging stops. The new battery can charge from 15% to 80% in approximately 28 minutes, a notable improvement over the previous battery.
Performance and Design: What Stays the Same
Despite the different battery technologies and capacities, both versions of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross EV retain the same 220-hp output and 1,100-kg towing capacity. This consistency ensures that choosing the smaller battery does not result in a significant compromise in vehicle functionality. The exterior design and interior features, including dual 12.3-inch displays running Renault’s Google-based infotainment software, remain unchanged.
The updated Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross EV will be available to order in European markets from November 2026. In the Netherlands, the cheapest Mid-Range option with the 67 kWh battery starts at a discounted €32,990 including an electric benefit of €3,000. The Long-Range variant with the upgraded 89 kWh battery will arrive later, but the outgoing model is still available starting from €40,490.
Warranty and Service Coverage
The Eclipse Cross EV comes with Mitsubishi’s Service Commitment in Europe, which includes a five-year/100,000-km factory warranty followed by up to three additional years of conditional extended coverage. This can provide total coverage of up to eight years or 160,000 km. Mitsubishi also provides a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty and an eight-year/160,000-km warranty for the traction battery. Roadside assistance is included for up to eight years through the Mitsubishi Assistance Package.
With these updates, Mitsubishi is expanding its electric SUV strategy to cater to a broader range of consumers. The introduction of the 67 kWh battery and upgraded 89 kWh pack offers more flexibility and choice in the increasingly competitive European EV market.
