The Italian market for 1:64 scale collectibles has been gaining momentum among adult hobbyists, and Majorette is answering that demand with three freshly designed cinquina packages. Each set groups five distinct liveries around a single model, turning the traditional single-car approach into a miniature narrative of automotive history. The debut will take place at the Majorette booth inside the Auto e Moto d’epoca exhibition in Bologna from 22 to 25 October 2026.
Volkswagen Golf GTI – a decade-spanning evolution
Majorette’s first package pays tribute to the legendary Volkswagen Golf GTI. The collection starts with the original first-generation hatchback rendered in a vibrant pastel red, instantly recognisable to purists. A second model follows in a pristine white shade marked with a bold red “35 Jahre” badge on the hood, celebrating the model’s 35-year anniversary. The third car jumps ahead to a dark metallic gray version adorned with honey-comb side graphics and a contrasting “40” numeral perched on the roof, signifying the fourth decade of GTI production. Rounding out the set are two contemporary finishes: a stark, snow-white example and an aggressive red with a dark panoramic roof, both echoing the current GTI’s sporty character. Each miniature includes at least one movable component—either the hood or a door—allowing collectors to pose dynamic displays.
Mini Icons – classic British charm meets modern graphics
The second set, titled Mini Icons merges the heritage of the British brand with cutting-edge styling. Two exclusive variants lead the line-up. The first classic Mini appears in a deep green hue, its white accents providing a sharp visual contrast, while the second classic is painted a warm red-amber and capped with a full-coverage Union Jack roof, a nod to national pride. The modern reinterpretations follow: a white Mini showcasing intricate geometric patterns inspired by watch dials, and a metallic gray version featuring the iconic racing checkerboard roof. The collection’s flagship is a blue Mini whose bodywork is wrapped in contemporary graphic-art designs, completing the cinquina. Like the Golf set, each Mini offers a functional hood or door for hands-on presentation.
Lancia Delta HF Integrale – five vivid tributes to an Italian legend
The third and perhaps most emotive package celebrates the Lancia Delta HF Integrale of 1992, an icon of rally history. Majorette reproduces the car in five striking colors: a bold “Ginestra” yellow that instantly draws the eye, a sophisticated dark blue bisected by a thin light longitudinal stripe, the unmistakable bright red that has become synonymous with the Delta, a flawless pure white version, and a final deep-blue iteration that adds depth to the palette. All models feature well-proportioned wheels that fill the generous wheel arches, underscoring the level of detail Majorette achieves at this scale. Each replica includes at least one opening element—hood or door—so enthusiasts can explore the interior and chassis without removing the model from its display base.
Exhibition launch and related publications
The three collections will be showcased at Majorette’s stand during the Auto e Moto d’epoca fair in Bologna, a key gathering for vintage-car aficionados that runs from 22 to 25 October 2026. The event offers collectors a chance to handle the pieces directly and compare them with other period models on display. In parallel, the October 2026 issue of a leading motor-enthusiast magazine will highlight the launch, featuring additional retrospectives such as the 50th anniversary of the Fiat 131 Rally Abarth, the 120th anniversary of Lancia with three representative models, and a look at the Ford StreetKa among other stories. Together, these releases underline the resurgence of interest in miniature automotive heritage and the role of high-quality scale modelling in preserving it.
