New Suzuki GSX-10R makes debut at Milan’s EICMA show

Suzuki’s GSX-10R blends a 999 cc powerplant with advanced electronics for a sportbike that aims to please both commuters and racers.

New Suzuki GSX-10R makes debut at Milan’s EICMA show

The Suzuki Motor Corporation took centre stage at the EICMA motorcycle exhibition in Milan, Italy, from 3 to 8 November 2026, unveiling the all-new GSX-10R. Marketed under the slogan “FUN. UNLIMITED.”, the bike is positioned as a versatile sport machine that can serve daily commuting, weekend touring and track-day action. Suzuki confirmed that sales will roll out from summer 2027 in selected territories, while a related naked model, the SV-7S, will arrive in spring 2027. The launch coincided with public days of the show (5-8 November), giving visitors a chance to see the new styling, winglets and three distinct colour schemes up close.

Technical heart: the 999 cc K5 engine

At the core of the GSX-10R lies a refined 999 cc liquid-cooled inline-four derived from the K5 version of Suzuki’s GSX-R1000 powerplant. The unit, previously tuned for the Katana and GSX-S1000, now delivers a Euro 5+ compliant output of 152 hp and 106 Nm of torque. Engine redesigns include revised oil pathways for durability and a compact twin-spar aluminium frame that shares components with the newest Katana, such as an aluminium swingarm and bolt-on rear subframe. Together with a larger 18-liter (4.76-gallon) fuel tank, the powertrain is built for longer rides without sacrificing the bike’s agile character.

Chassis, ergonomics and electronic suite

The chassis adopts a forward-leaning geometry that mirrors the riding position of the GSX-R1000R, offering a deep lean angle of 53°—a step up from the 48° found on the GSX-S1000. A rear tyre size upgrade to 190/55 ZR17 improves grip during aggressive cornering, while a newly shaped seat with a flatter profile balances sport-rider mobility with touring comfort. The front end features winglets inspired by current racing machines, and a high-luminance LED headlamp equipped with the first-ever Suzuki Ground Beacon System, which sharpens turn-signal visibility for pedestrians and fellow traffic.

Electronic control systems

Integration of the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) brings the GSX-10R to a new level of rider assistance. The package comprises 15 electronic control functions, the most ever fitted to a Suzuki motorcycle, including the inaugural Slide Control that modulates rear-wheel slip during cornering, and a Brake Hold Control that keeps the bike stationary on inclines, flat ground and downhill gradients alike. Additional aids such as cruise control, launch control, three selectable power modes and an engine-brake control system further tailor the machine to both street and track scenarios.

Styling and colour options

Visually, the GSX-10R embraces aggressive yet contemporary lines, with a low-rising silhouette, pronounced fairing contours and exposed engine details that hint at its racing heritage. Buyers can choose from three liveries: Pearl Vigor Blue paired with Metallic Mystic Silver, Pearl Pulse Red with Solid Iron Gray, and Metallic Galaxy Gray with Glass Sparkle Black. Each scheme incorporates graphics that echo the GSX-R lineage while giving the bike a fresh, dynamic presence on the road.

Beyond aesthetics, practical features include a full-colour TFT instrument cluster, smartphone connectivity via the Suzuki Ride Connect+ app, a USB-type-C charging port and a lightweight long-life lithium-ion battery supplied by Eliiy Power. All these elements combine to deliver a motorcycle that aims to satisfy the cravings of everyday riders while still offering the technological sophistication expected on the racetrack.
