Simon Reid, a talented rider from Banbridge, Northern Ireland, will be joining the squad for the upcoming event at the Circuit of The Americas (COTA) near Austin. Reid, the son of two-time Formula Two World Champion and Isle of Man TT winner Brian Reid, brings a wealth of experience from the British Superbike scene. Currently competing in the 2026 Pirelli National Superstock Championship with Carl Cox BMW By MLav Racing, Reid is no stranger to high-stakes racing. His debut in MotoAmerica is supported by a collaborative effort involving Carl Cox Motorsport, alpha Racing, BMW Motorrad USA, and BMW Motorrad Motorsport.
Simon Reid’s Exciting New Chapter
Simon Reid expressed his enthusiasm about joining Aftercare Scheibe Racing, stating, “I’m really excited to join Aftercare Scheibe Racing at COTA. It’ll be my first race in MotoAmerica, and I can’t wait to get started next week. Reid’s familiarity with the BMW M 1000 RR will be a significant advantage as he steps into the Superbike Cup aboard the #101 Aftercare Scheibe Racing BMW M 1000 RR. “I know the BMW well, so I’m looking forward to getting to work with the team and taking on a new challenge. It’s going to be a great experience, and I think everyone involved is excited to see what we can do,” he added.
Max Flinders Welcomes a New Teammate
Max Flinders, the British-born incumbent rider for Aftercare Scheibe Racing, has been a solo act throughout his MotoAmerica career. Flinders, who was the first rider to take to the track at COTA during MotoAmerica’s inaugural season in 2015, is thrilled to have Reid joining the team. “I’m excited to have Simon as part of the Aftercare Scheibe Racing team at COTA,” commented Max. “Having another Brit around will be awesome, plus I’ve never had a teammate before, so it will be interesting to see how it is. The action kicks off next Friday, September 11, at COTA with Superbike free practice 1 at 10:55 a.m. CT. Superbike Timed Practice follows later that day at 2:50 p.m. CT. On Saturday, Superbike Free Practice 2 begins at 9:45 a.m. CT, followed by Superbike Final Qualifying at 11:35 a.m. CT. The first race of the weekend, Superbike Race 1, starts at 3:12 p.m. CT on Saturday. Superbike Race 2 will take place on Sunday at the same time, 3:12 p.m. CT.
