2026 MotoMINI Canadian Nationals: Molnar and Stockill shine at Lombardy Raceway

The 2026 MotoMINI canadian national Championship Series continued with its second round at the Lombardry Raceway on July 4, 2026. The .866-kilometer-long track, which has hosted the series for the past five years, provided a challenging stage for the competitors. After a period of torrid weather, cooler and calmer conditions prevailed, setting the stage for an exciting day of racing.

Ohvale160 class: Molnar’s dominance and Cardenas’ resilience

The Ohvale160 class saw Martina Cardenas secure pole position with a lap time of 48.3 seconds despite a brief trip to the ER earlier in the week. Tommy Molnar the double winner from the first round, was second fastest in qualifying with a time of 48.7 seconds.

The front row was completed by Fadhili Kraemer at 49.5 seconds followed by Austin Da (50.2 seconds) and Xander Hilligas (51.3 seconds). Will Brown a double podium placer at the opener, qualified sixth with a lap of 51.5 seconds.

In the first 12-lap national race, Molnar took off at the start, with Kraemer quickly moving into second. Molnar secured a solid victory, finishing six seconds ahead of Kraemer. A fierce battle for third ensued between Da and Cardenas, with Da holding off Cardenas by just .2 of a second.

In the second race, Molnar again got a great start, but Cardenas had a better launch. Molnar won by just .24 of a second making it a perfect score of four straight wins. Kraemer earned third, with Da and Hilligas following. Cardenas had the consolation of turning the fastest 160 class lap with a time of 48 seconds flat in the second race.

Ohvale190 class: Stockill’s home advantage

In the Ohvale190 classJager Stockill was quickest in qualifying at his home venue, turning a best lap at 45.16 seconds. Second on the grid was Stockill’s arch-rival Stefan Tanasic with a best of 46.2 seconds followed by Eric Sergi at 48 seconds flat.

Stockill took control from the start of the first 190 race and eventually worked clear to win by 3.7 seconds from runner-up Tanasic. Sergi finished third, with Stockill setting the fastest lap at 45.7 seconds.

The second 190 national race saw more of the same, with Stockill building a huge margin of victory, edging Tanasic by over 25 seconds. Sergi was third, with rookie Cohen Byberg in fourth. Stockill increased his pace slightly to set the quickest race two lap at 45.6 seconds.

Stockill, a twice Team Canada representative at the World Ohvale finals in Spain, is a perfect four-for-four in 2026 and is looking set to travel again this fall.

The next round of the FIM-sanctioned National tour for the Ohvale racers will take place at the Go Kart facility at Shannonville Motorsport Park on July 24-25, 2026 in conjunction with the RACE Moto Regional event. This marks the halfway point in the championship series.
