Admission Requirements and Program Outcomes
To be admitted into the program, students must complete an academic skills assessment. This can be waived if the student has a high school GPA of 2.75 or higher, has completed an associate’s or higher degree, or has achieved a score of 165 or higher on the 2014 series GED tests. Alternatively, students can take the ACT or Accuplacer to demonstrate their readiness for the general education level. The cost of the Accuplacer assessment is $15.
Upon completion of the program, students will be equipped to demonstrate professionalism appropriate for the auto service industry. They will gain the ability to perform diagnosis, service, and repair of various automotive systems, including automatic transmission/transaxle systems, brake systems, electrical & electronic systems, engine performance systems, heating and air conditioning systems, internal combustion engines, manual drive train and axles systems, and steering and suspension systems.
Students who begin in the Spring semester will complete the program in five consecutive semesters, including the summer semester. This structured approach ensures that students receive comprehensive training and are well-prepared to enter the workforce.
