The Chuckwalla Valley Motorcycle Association (CVMA) is gearing up for the 2026-27 Winter Series with a series of strategic promotions aimed at strengthening its leadership team. These appointments reflect the organization’s commitment to maintaining high standards of safetyfairness and professionalism in motorcycle road racing.
With the series set to kick off this fall at the Chuckwalla Valley Raceway CVMA is ensuring that its operations are in capable hands. The newly promoted leaders bring a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the sport, promising an exciting and well-organized racing season ahead.
Rainey Pogue Takes the Helm as Technical Director
Rainey Pogue has been officially appointed as the Technical Director for CVMA, a role she has been excelling in since the second half of the last season. Pogue’s lifelong passion for motorcycles and racing, combined with her meticulous attention to detail, makes her an ideal fit for this critical position.
In addition to her work with CVMA, Pogue serves as a mechanic for MotoAmerica racer Brenden Ketelsen and the BPR Racing team. This professional experience brings a high level of expertise back to the paddock each race weekend. As Technical Director, Pogue will oversee motorcycle technical inspections, ensure compliance with CVMA’s rulebook, and work closely with racers and officials to uphold the highest standards of safety and fairness.
Richard “Cowboy” Stampp CVMA Operations Director, expressed his enthusiasm for Pogue’s promotion: “Rainey has earned the respect of everyone in the paddock. She’s organized, fair, and incredibly knowledgeable. She stepped into the Technical Director role last season and immediately made a positive impact. I’m excited to have her leading Tech as we move forward.”
David Martin Steps Up as Assistant Race Director
David Martin has been promoted to Assistant Race Director a role that recognizes his extensive experience and dedication to CVMA. Martin has been involved with the club since its inception, racing and volunteering in nearly every operational department. His roles have included technical inspection, registration assistance, race timing support, and most recently, serving as Chief Grid Marshal.
Martin will continue his duties as Chief Grid Marshal while assuming the responsibilities of Assistant Race Director. In this new role, he will help oversee race operations, ensuring that events run smoothly and safely. Outside of CVMA, Martin also serves as Race Director for the California Roadrace Association (CRA) highlighting the strong collaboration between the two organizations.
Jay Tanner CVMA Race Director, praised Martin’s contributions: “David has done just about every job this club has to offer, and he’s always been someone we can count on. His experience, calm demeanor, and understanding of race operations make him a natural fit for Assistant Race Director.”
Aleks Palacios Appointed as CVMA’s Coordinador Español
To better serve its growing Spanish-speaking community, CVMA has appointed Aleks Palacios as Coordinador Español. This new position reflects CVMA’s commitment to making motorcycle road racing accessible to competitors from throughout the Southwest and Mexico.
Palacios will assist Spanish-speaking racers during registration, provide bilingual support between race rounds, and serve as a point of contact for racers who prefer to communicate in Spanish. He will also help translate and communicate important race weekend information, including riders’ meetings and other official announcements.
