The NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series wraps its 2026 schedule with a high-stakes event at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Friday night. The 25th and final race will decide the owner’s championship and could crown a first-time series champion, while several teams vie for valuable sponsor exposure in the season’s climax.
Spire Motorsports enters the finale with two competitive trucks
Spire fields the No. 77 and No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado RST entries. The No. 77, driven by Nick Sanchez, sits sixth in the owner points, while the No. 7, piloted by Connor Mosack, holds ninth place, 214 points off the lead after the Martinsville race. Mosack’s resume includes a third-place finish at the 2024 Baptist Health 200 and a pair of pole positions at St. Petersburg and Charlotte. His chassis, SMT-091, has logged four top-five runs in six outings, most recently a fifth place at Darlington.
Sanchez returns to his home track for a third start with Spire. The Miami native has captured two wins this season, at Daytona and Charlotte, and boasts eight poles in 50 starts. His 2023 pole at Homestead-Miami remains a career highlight, and he hopes the familiar high-line and tire-wear dynamics will reward his aggressive style.
Front Row Motorsports lines up its top contenders
FRM brings two Ford trucks to the showdown. Layne Riggs in the No. 34, backed by Love’s Travel Stops and Fleetguard, sits second in the driver standings, just 20 points behind leader Kaden Honeycutt. Riggs has already secured a runner-up at Homestead in 2025 and recent top-three finishes at Martinsville and Talladega demonstrate his consistency.
On the opposite side of the garage, Chandler Smith drives the No. 38 Ford F-150, sponsored by Patriot Mobile. Smith’s best Homestead result is an eighth-place finish in his debut season with FRM (2025). Recent success at Martinsville – a victory – adds momentum, though his finishes at Talladega and Phoenix this year have been modest.
Championship battle: Honeycutt versus Riggs
The title race has narrowed to a classic duel between Kaden Honeycutt and Layne Riggs. Honeycutt, who leads the points table, must finish ahead of Riggs or rely on a misstep from the Florida native to retain his advantage. With only 20 points separating them, every position matters, and Homestead’s 1.5-mile oval, known for its tire-fade and multiple racing lines, will test both drivers’ strategic acumen.
Both contenders have shown speed on similar tracks: Honeycutt’s strong run at Indianapolis Raceway Park and Riggs’s solid performance at Martinsville illustrate their adaptability. The race’s three-stage format – 30, 60 and 134 laps – offers multiple opportunities for bonus points, making pit strategy and tire management critical.
Television coverage will be on FS1 at 6:30 p.m. ET, with simultaneous radio coverage via the NASCAR Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90. Fans can also track live timing through NASCAR’s official app, where the battle for the owner’s championship will unfold lap by lap.
